You can also make a very tasty (and just as keepable) kimchi. Kimchi is a Korean fermented cabbage dish, using other seasonal veggies and fruits.

Also: I am certain this would be fine with just the veggies braised and no chicken, for all the vegetarians/vegans out there. Substitute the fat and use veggie broth instead.

I'm a father of two, and a college student majoring in psychology.
I love to cook and of course I love to eat more! I joined the CSA to provide good quality, reasonably priced produce for my family and myself. I like to watch movies, listen to various genres of music, but my favorite is early jazz/dixie land and big band/swing.

This should have been posted last week. Ah, well. Better late than never, yes?
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: about 120 minutes.

Ingredients:
chicken leg quarters skin removed (3 or 4, depending on the size of your pot. I used 3)
2-3 turnips, depending on taste. (2 cups, if I recall)
1 large carrot (about a cup chopped)
